All about the Role
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority is one of eight national Youth Guarantee Trailblazers who will be delivering a ‘test and learn' pilot. To support this work we are looking for a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our aspirational team.
EET Researchers lead on the follow up, tracking and engagement of young people in order to identify their situation for accurate statutory reporting. EET Researchers signpost young people for further support where needs are identified, this could include other Peterborough City Council services including EET Intervention Work, Early Help, Social Care, Youth Offending Service, or to external partners such as Health Services and Job Centre Plus.
We are looking to recruit a fixed term EET Researcher for 37 hours per week.
Working as part of the EET Researcher team within the EET Service, you will track young people to establish their current situation and where necessary offer signposting to help them with their plans to move into employment, education or training.
You will use a variety of methods to contact young people directly. In addition to this you will build relationships with training providers, schools and colleges to gather information. The role will involve gathering data through a variety of methods to ensure its reliability. You will provide feedback to colleagues to identify situations when intervention from the EET Intervention Workers may be necessary. You will also assist in the input and collation of data for reporting and analysing purposes.
The postholder would be required to work from home and from Sand Martin House (Peterborough City Council).

This post is a fixed term position for until 31st August 2026 which is funded by the youth guarantee grant and is intended to upscale and develop existing provision.
All about You
The successful candidate must be passionate about and have experience of improving the education, employment and training opportunities of vulnerable young people. You will be a confident communicator who is outcomes driven. You will have the ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with a range of professionals. Alongside this, knowledge of specific barriers and vulnerabilities faced by young people and experience of inter-agency partnership work would be beneficial.
You will have up to date knowledge of the education system and pathways into further and higher education, employment and training. You will be able to offer support and challenge to ensure that outcomes are maximised.
You will be familiar with legislation and national guidance relating to the education, employment and training. Knowledge of SEND and recent experience of delivering training and effectively supporting children and young people in transition would be beneficial.
You will be efficient, organised and be able to work using your own initiative within a wider team.
This role is hybrid working – office and home working are supported in line with the needs of the service. Additionally, it is expected that there will be time spent visiting key partners and stakeholders.
You must be able to drive.
