All about the Role 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate the commissioning and ongoing contractual oversight of a tailored placement and support package for a child in the care of Peterborough City Council; encompassing implementation, mobilisation, and contract management to ensure the delivery of a robust and resilient specialist provision. 

The postholder will independently manage and undertake all tasks and processes relating to the placement of the child and any other duties associated with children in care as requested

The successful candidate will be the lead for ensuring high-quality delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement. They will oversee contract performance, financial monitoring, and risk management, while fostering strong relationships with providers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Acting as the primary point of contact for service delivery, the postholder will drive accountability, resolve issues, and implement robust frameworks to enhance outcomes. This position requires strategic oversight, operational excellence, and a commitment to collaborative working across organisations. 

THIS ROLE IS A 6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT.

Please note the salary quoted is for the full time equivalent and will be pro rata to reflect the 25 hour position.

Children's Commissioning Team is part of the Adults and Commissioning Directorate. We help to transform the way public services are designed, delivered, and integrated. We work with a range of local, regional, and national organisations and public sector bodies. Together we want to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children, young people, and families.

Commissioning is important for improving public services. Our goal is to help vulnerable children, young people, and families by working with partners to prioritise their needs. We understand that achieving our goals requires collaboration within complex systems. We use the commissioning cycle as a framework for our work and often work on multiple phases at once. If necessary, we may return to an earlier phase for specific tasks.
