All about the Role
- Provide targeted careers advice, guidance, and signposting for those who are NEET or at risk of NEET.
- Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to implement timely interventions that reduce the number of young people without a known destination.
- Undertake database cross-referencing, home visits, and direct engagement to collect accurate, quality-assured data.
This role is funded through the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer programme, a key part of the national 'Get Britain Working' strategy. The role is fixed term until 31st March 2027.

All about our Team
The EET Service sits within Education Directorate. We lead on the local authority's duty to “Raise the Participation Age” (RPA) and report on the participation of our young people each year.
All about You
The successful candidate must have experience of be passionate about improving the educational experiences of vulnerable young people.
You will be a confident communicator who takes a flexible and creative approach to problem solving; you will have a proactive and can-do approach. You will have the ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with a range of professionals. You will be efficient, organised and be able to work using your own initiative within a wider team.
You will organise your own workload and set your own priorities within short, e.g. day-to-day, timescales. It will be necessary that you develop a robust understanding of the work of the EET service to handle and respond to enquiries.
Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role is hybrid working – office and home working are supported in line with the needs of the service. This work will involve direct work with young people.
