Clare Lodge Secure Children's Home provides care, stability, and safety for some of the most vulnerable young people. We are looking for a committed and highly organised Facilities / Housekeeping Coordinator to help us maintain a safe, homely, and well‑managed environment for our residents and staff.
This is a rewarding role, ideal for someone with strong coordination skills, a calm and professional approach, and experience in facilities, housekeeping, or a similar operational environment.
About the Role
As our Facilities / Housekeeping Coordinator, you will:
- Oversee the daily activities of the facilities and domestic team, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety across the Home.
- Support preparations for external inspections including Ofsted, CQC, DfE, Fire Safety, and internal audits.
- Coordinate maintenance requests via our helpdesk system and liaise with contractors to ensure timely, safe completion of works.
- Conduct and record essential Health & Safety checks, security testing, and compliance monitoring.
- Supervise and support staff, including rota oversight, training coordination, and regular team/individual supervisions.
- Ensure bedrooms, living areas, classrooms, and offices are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Support stock control, purchasing, and budget monitoring for cleaning, laundry, and facilities supplies.
- Engage appropriately with young people to help maintain safe access for cleaning and repairs and to gather feedback on environmental improvements.
All about You
Our Facilities/Housekeeping Coordinator will ;
- Have strong experience in facilities, housekeeping, or maintenance environment.
- Have a solid working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH, risk assessments, and safe systems of work, and will be confident coordinating daily operational tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and homely environment.
- Be an effective communicator who can work positively with staff, contractors, and young people, remaining calm and professional in a challenging and secure setting.
- Have supervisory skills, along with the ability to plan workloads, monitor standards, and support the development and wellbeing of the facilities team.
- Be confident a balancing practical hands‑on duties with accurate record keeping, scheduling, and inspection preparation.
