All about the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in housing enforcement to join our busy housing standards team within Regulatory Services. The Housing Compliance Officer will have a varied workload across reactive private sector housing complaints, investigating complaints of illegal eviction, and the licensing and inspection of Houses in Multiple Occupation
You will be responsible for:
- To investigate housing complaints and public health issues in privately rented houses
 - Surveying and risk assessing properties within the private rented sector using the Housing Health and Safety Rating system, taking appropriate action to remove risks, preparing statements, schedules of works and statutory notices.
 - Taking a lead responsibility for investigating complaints of threatened and actual illegal eviction and harassment.
 - To take a lead responsibility for the licensing and inspecting Mobile Home Parks
 - To assess the suitability of Houses in Multiple Occupation and risk rate accordingly. To assess management suitability and apply relevant regulations and legislation in determining fit and proper criteria, management regulations, fire safety and housing standards.
 
We are looking for someone with:
- Excellent organisational and customer service skills.
 - A good knowledge of legislation relating to private sector housing.
 - Experience of inspecting properties under Housing Health and Safety Rating system.
 - Experience in serving statutory notices and enforcing compliance within the Housing Sector
 - Demonstrable experience of managing and progressing a varied caseload and working within a busy front-line team.
