All about the Role
As an Independent Person, you will play an important role in supporting the Council to maintain high standards of conduct by providing independent and impartial advice in relation to complaints about Councillors.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide independent views on complaints relating to the Members' Code of Conduct
• Be consulted before decisions are made on complaints
• Be available to provide advice to both the Council and Members
What we are looking for
We are looking for individuals who:
• Are independent and have no inappropriate connection with the Council
• Have sound judgement and integrity
• Have an interest in ethics, governance or public life
• Are able to analyse information and make reasoned recommendations

Eligibility
Applicants must not be a councillor, officer, or closely associated with Peterborough City Council.
