As an Occupational Therapy Assistant within Adult Social Care's Therapy Services team, you'll support people in their own homes who have a wide range of health, social and housing needs. You will carry out non‑complex, holistic assessments, complete reviews, and contribute to intervention plans under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist.

You'll demonstrate and provide specialist equipment, arrange minor adaptations, and help individuals maximise independence, safety and dignity in their daily lives. The role also includes managing a caseload, maintaining accurate electronic records, liaising with partner organisations, assisting with equipment stores, and contributing to wider team tasks such as administrative or equipment‑related duties.

This is a customer‑focused role requiring flexibility, responsiveness, and a commitment to the Council's equality, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.

You are a compassionate and forward-thinking individual with a basic understanding of Occupational Therapy, knowledge of simple adaptations, and awareness of the needs of older, disabled, and vulnerable people. You will have a commitment to equality, inclusion and excellent customer care.

Strong communication skills including written, typed and verbal are essential, along with the ability to maintain accurate records, liaise with professionals and families, and work both independently and as part of a team. You'll be adaptable, able to prioritise your workload, handle stressful or sensitive situations, and assist people safely in their homes. Competent IT skills are also required.
