All about the Role 

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team here at Cherry Lodge as a Residential Worker and make a real difference to young people's lives!

Cherry Lodge is a local authority children's home and offers short breaks and shared care placements to children and young people with severe disabilities, complex health and behaviours that challenge between the ages of 5 and 18.

We are seeking someone who is child centred, caring and wants to make a difference. Someone who will be dedicated to providing the best outcomes for Children with Disabilities and their families. 

As a Residential Worker you will maintain standards of recognised good practice at all times when dealing with children and young people by establishing purposeful and constructive relationships and appropriate role modelling so as to assist with the development of their life and social skills and age-appropriate independence. You will communicate and engage with children so that their stay in the home is purposeful and enjoyable and work in line with Departmental procedures, unit policies and legislative frameworks.

All about You

  • Knowledge and understanding of good Customer Care.
  • Ability to communicate verbally & in writing with children and families.
  • Ability to complete relevant training including National Diploma 3
  • Previous involvement with children as a paid worker, volunteer or carer.
  • Experience with office applications such as word and Outlook 365.
  • GSCE's English or equivalent
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, sometimes at short notice.
  • Have confidence to establish & maintain positive relationships with individuals & groups.
