All about the Role

The Senior Executive Assistant plays a pivotal role in providing high-level, comprehensive support to Executive Directors and senior leaders at Peterborough City Council.

This position requires the ability to work independently at pace, managing a high volume of priorities while remaining highly organised and responsive. You will be confident in taking direction, proactive in your approach, and comfortable engaging directly with Directors and senior stakeholders. A key part of the role is acting as a central link between Executive Directors and teams across the organisation, as well as external partners.

You will be expected to navigate complex and often ambiguous situations, using your initiative to investigate issues, identify solutions, and present clear recommendations and findings to Executive Directors.

Working as part of a corporate support team, you will also contribute to the wider coordination of administrative support across Directors, Senior Executive Assistants, and Executive Assistants as required. Additionally, you will have responsibility for line managing Executive Assistants, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and continuous improvement.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 17th June at Sand Martin House.

All about You

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with extensive experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced environment. You thrive on managing competing priorities and are confident working independently, using your initiative to anticipate needs and resolve issues before they escalate.

You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with Executive Directors, senior stakeholders, and colleagues across all levels of the organisation.
