All about the Role

Peterborough City Council has an ambitious vision to deliver a comprehensive Transformation Programme across all Council services, including playing a key role in supporting the Council's Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). This represents a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to large‑scale change that will shape the future design and delivery of local services.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the postholder will be responsible for overseeing, managing and supporting the development and delivery of a portfolio of analytical work, service improvement projects and workstreams within the Council's Transformation Programme, including those critical to LGR delivery. The role requires strong knowledge and experience of programme and delivery management, governance and assurance arrangements, and effective stakeholder engagement. The ability to operate flexibly and confidently within a large‑scale, fast‑paced and evolving transformation environment is essential.

All about You

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual with strong interpersonal skills to join our innovative and high‑performing project management team. You will be organised, resilient and able to work effectively under pressure, contributing positively to a fast‑paced and supportive environment.

You will bring significant experience of project management, including the delivery of complex, large‑scale programmes, alongside strong leadership and influencing skills. You will be confident in applying risk management principles and experienced in working within governance and decision‑making frameworks, particularly within a local authority context.
