All about the Role
The specialist clinician role for Positive Behaviour Support is a role within our Children with Disabilities and clinical service teams. The PBS clinician will be responsible for undertaking brief or full functional assessments of behaviour, developing strong relationships with children, parents and carers in producing a PBS plan with recommendations. The interventions and review of said plan will be a key part of this role. Training others and establishing links with key stakeholders to further support the children in their home or other home setting will be key to the success of this role.
All about our Team
The clinical service is a small team who provide clinical consultation to professionals and carers to support and help for children who are looked after, foster carers and parents who are caring for their child/ren who have disabilities. We work alongside families using a trauma and attachment focussed approach both indirectly and directly. We work both in the community and at the office and online, allowing for flexible working, however we broadly work between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The team also offers training and supervision to our social care colleagues in fostering and corporate parenting teams and have a strong focus on self-care and wellbeing matters.
All about You
A BACB or HCPC registered and accredited professional that has access to specialist supervision, with experience in working within health or social care settings with children who have learning disabilities, and or autism/FASD, behaviours that challenge and also an enthusiastic approach in PBS, including lone working when needed. Great interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to produce assessments, reports and PBS plans in a timely manner that is responsive to the needs of the child and family.
