All about the Role 

The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Secure Children's Home operates in full compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, regulatory requirements, and council policies. The role provides oversight of safeguarding, incident monitoring, and the lawful and proportionate use of physical intervention, promoting high standards of practice that prioritise the safety, welfare, dignity, and rights of children and young people. Working closely with managers, staff, and external partners, the postholder supports inspection readiness, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within a regulated residential care environment.

The Compliance Manager will join the Clare Lodge team within Children & Young People Services, working in a specialist secure residential setting for children and young people. The team is multi‑disciplinary and includes residential care staff, managers, safeguarding leads, and partner professionals, all committed to delivering safe, trauma‑informed, and child‑centred care. The service operates within a highly regulated environment, with a strong focus on safeguarding, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, and works collaboratively to ensure practice is lawful, proportionate, and reflective of the needs and rights of children and young people.

You are a highly organised and detail‑focused professional with a strong commitment to safeguarding and quality. You have a sound understanding of compliance within regulated care environments and the confidence to apply legislation, guidance, and policy to everyday practice. Calm, reflective, and solution‑focused, you are able to exercise professional judgement, identify risks, and escalate concerns appropriately. You communicate clearly, work well both independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, and are motivated by improving outcomes and ensuring safe, lawful, and child‑centred practice for children and young people.
