Peterborough City Council is seeking an inspirational, visionary leader to take on the pivotal role of Director of Public Health. About the Role
As Director of Public Health, you will play a key role in improving health, tackling inequalities, and protecting our communities. You will act as the main public health adviser to councillors, officers, and partners, leading a skilled team and working with the local authority, NHS, and the Integrated Care System.
Peterborough is a growing city of over 215,000 people, known for strong partnerships. You will join an experienced public health team, working closely with neighbouring Cambridgeshire and the Central East Integrated Care Board.

You are a strategic leader with a clear public health vision and proven ability to unite stakeholders. Registered with the GMC, GDC, or UK Public Health Register, you bring expertise in public health, epidemiology, health economics, and policy, along with a track record of innovation and change management. Skilled in navigating complex systems and building relationships, you focus on performance, risk, and delivering quality, cost-effective health programmes that reduce inequalities. You are committed to developing your team, championing Peterborough's diverse community, and have the necessary mobility and DBS eligibility.
