All about the Role 

Are you passionate about keeping children safe and making a real difference across education settings?  

We are seeking an experienced and committed Education Safeguarding Advisor to become part of our respected and supportive Peterborough Education Safeguarding Team.

This is a vital role providing high‑quality safeguarding advice, support and training to education settings, ensuring that safeguarding and child protection practice is effective, compliant and child‑centred.


As an Education Safeguarding Advisor, you will:

  • Provide expert safeguarding advice and guidance to schools, academies, and education professionals.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with education settings to enhance safeguarding practice through advice, guidance, auditing, advisory reviews, training and learning events.
  • Support education settings to meet their statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Provide consultation and oversight on safeguarding concerns, allegations and complex cases.
  • Work closely with colleagues across education, social care, health and partner agencies

You will play a key role in strengthening safeguarding practice across the education system and ensuring children and young people are protected from harm.

Please note this role is offered on a 2 year FTC


All about our Team

The Peterborough Education Safeguarding Team, is a small but incredibly fast pace and busy team.  The team provides expert advice, guidance, and support to schools, colleges, and other education partners on a wide range of safeguarding matters. This includes responding to concerns, offering consultation, delivering training, and ensuring that education settings understand and fulfil their statutory safeguarding responsibilities. By working closely with social care, multi‑agency partners, and education professionals, the team helps create safe learning environments where children can thrive, and concerns about their welfare are responded to promptly and effectively.

All about You

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates exceptional communication skills, is highly organised and self motivated. You will have substantial experience working within a local authority or education setting and possess thorough knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes. Your approach is diligent and hard-working, consistently striving for excellence and positive outcomes for children, young people, families, and carers and you will be committed to restorative, relational and solution‑focused practice.
