All about the Role
You will work with victims who are experiencing domestic
abuse, where the abusive person is part of the DRIVE Programme. Your role will be to work with and empower victims of domestic abuse to increase their safety, reduce and manage identified risks and where applicable that of their children. You will be key in providing crisis and ongoing support by
telephone and or face to face with the victim. The role will require you to collaborate with other services, such as police, social care and probation, to ensure your clients are as safe as possible.

You will be working with a very experienced team of 6 IDVAs, who work across the City from various locations to support their clients. Within the team there are also MARAC Co-ordinators who oversee the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences.
All about You
You will have demonstrable experience of supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, alongside a strong understanding of the dynamics, patterns, and impact of domestic abuse on victims and children. This includes a sound knowledge of how perpetrators use abusive and controlling behaviours within intimate partner relationships and across wider family relationships.
You will demonstrate inclusive practice and an informed understanding of domestic abuse experienced by male victims, victims in same‑sex relationships, and all LGBTQ+ survivors.
A strong working knowledge of the Criminal Justice System in relation to domestic abuse is essential. You will be confident in working collaboratively with criminal justice partners and will understand a range of legal options available to survivors, alongside housing rights and housing‑related pathways.
You will be able to communicate clearly, sensitively, and effectively with a wide range of audiences, including survivors and professionals, both verbally and in writing. This will often involve discussing complex and emotionally sensitive issues in a calm, professional, and trauma‑informed manner.
You will demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work independently, and problem‑solve effectively, supported by highly developed influencing and advocacy skills to achieve positive outcomes for survivors within multi‑agency and criminal justice contexts
