All about the Role 

City College Peterborough is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Silver Jewellery Making Tutor to join our dynamic Leisure Department. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to inspire adult learners aged 19+ and to share your passion and expertise in the creative craft of silver jewellery making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons to adult learners across a range of skill levels.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of silversmithing techniques, including metalwork, soldering, stone setting and finishing.
  • Provide personalised guidance and support to learners, helping them progress through the creative process and achieve their artistic goals.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages experimentation, critical thinking and a love for silversmithing.
  • Inspire learners to explore diverse design concepts and techniques, supporting them in developing their own unique creative styles.

Please note that a low uptake would mean that the course would be unable to run.

As a Silver Jewellery Making Tutor, you will play a key role within our Adult Skills team by inspiring learners to explore their creativity while building confidence and technical proficiency in the craft. You will help create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment where adults are encouraged to develop their skills, experiment with new techniques and achieve their personal and artistic ambitions.

We are seeking a highly skilled Silver Jewellery Making Tutor with comprehensive knowledge of the craft and a strong portfolio of completed work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage, motivate and guide adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to assess learner progress effectively and provide constructive, developmental feedback.
  • Experience in designing innovative, inspiring and well‑structured lesson plans that address individual learner needs.
  • A collaborative and dedicated approach, contributing positively to the success of the Adult Skills Department.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining the high‑quality learning experience offered at City College Peterborough.
