All about the Role 

Lead Residential Worker at Clare Lodge is responsible for leading and supervising residential care staff while ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding for children and young people. The role combines direct care responsibilities with operational leadership, acting as a positive role model and supporting both staff development and the delivery of consistent, effective practice.
The Lead Residential Workeroversees day-to-day shift operations, contributes to care planning, and works collaboratively with internal and external professionals to meet the needs of young people. They ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and care standards, while maintaining accurate records and promoting positive outcomes, including development, education, and independence.
In addition, the role involves motivating and guiding staff, managing behaviour effectively, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment, where young people are encouraged to engage in activities and progress towards successful reintegration into the community.

You are a committed and resilient childcare professional with a strong track record of working with children and young people in a residential setting. You demonstrate the ability to lead by example, build positive relationships, and respond effectively to complex behaviours with consistency, confidence, and professionalism.

You are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for young people, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development remain at the centre of your practice. You are organised, proactive, and capable of managing competing demands, with the confidence to lead shifts, support colleagues, and maintain high standards of care and record-keeping. 

You bring strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner agencies. You are reflective in your practice, open to learning, and committed to continuous improvement, while upholding organisational values and delivering consistent, high-quality care.
