We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Animal Care Technician to support our 14–19 Post‑16 provision. This is a varied and rewarding role combining animal care, learner support, and lesson cover, ideal for someone passionate about education and animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing daily care and welfare for a range of animals, including feeding, cleaning, handling, and health monitoring
- Maintaining high standards of animal husbandry in line with welfare and safeguarding requirements
- Supporting teaching staff during practical and classroom-based animal care sessions
- Covering lessons when required, delivering pre‑planned learning activities and ensuring a positive and safe learning environment
- Preparing practical resources, equipment, and learning spaces
- Supporting learners aged 14–19, encouraging engagement, independence, and safe working practices
- Assisting with risk assessments, health and safety checks, and record‑keeping
- Helping maintain animal accommodation, equipment, and learning facilities
